Valentine's Day 2013

So yesterday, we receive a letter from Swe-cha's teacher saying the kids will be exchanging valentine's day cards to practice their social skills. If you'd like your child to participate, please send them in on Thursday with pre-filled cards and then they provided  a list of students and staff.

With that, I made sure to drop by the dollar store after work to pick up some Vday cards for Swe-cha's class tomorrow. Gosh, I didn't realize how big of a product Valentine's day is until I got there - the aisles were crammed with kids with parents who were shopping for Valentines-day-themed candy, cards and small items to give away to classmates.

I wanted something generic and it took me a long time before I found something that does not say "I love you" or "Be my Valentine" - I did not want him giving out cards that said such things to his boy-classmates.

I was so happy when I found these paper airplane cards - you fold them in half and they look like cards (see first picture above) and they're also pre-folded & come with instructions on how to make paper airplanes out of them. Cool, huh ?

Hope the kids like them tomorrow.
