Poopy face

This is Daddy's face when he changes Swe-cha's poopy-diapers.

Hindi drama yan, he's always like that and I don't blame him, our little one can sure make 'em really smelly!

Sugar

Yesterday, while picking Swe-cha up from daycare, the prettiest little girl with light blond hair and blue eyes came up to us, waved and said "Bye, Sugar".

My son waves back and says "haaaa" (hi or bye).

Kinilig si Mommy :D

Happiest Place on Earth

is Home Depot ... for now :)

This afternoon, we dropped by Home Depot to pick up some supplies - the water level assembly in our 2nd upstairs toilet is leaking and the door knob in the master bath keeps sticking.

And, well, if you've been following our blog, you know how crazy our little boy is about wheels. He was already very happy when I let him walk in the aisles (when there were no carts and dangerous tools like hammers and axes around) but I wish I was able to capture the way that his face lit up when he got to the casters and wheels section and saw all these goodies.

He immediately got one caster, laid it on the floor and started turning the wheel. There were casters and wheels of all sizes! He couldn't decide which one to get.

Then, he walked over to where Daddy was eyeing the toolsets and of course, he wanted to check those out too.

He liked the toolsets so much, he climbed on top of them and didn't want to leave.

Chismoso

Swe-cha had just finished his meal and was still in his high chair, reading a book, when he heard Daddy use the ice shaver....

Of course, my curious toddler just had to see what was going on.

Picture book part 2

Remember my previous post about the duck in Swe-cha's picture book ? Well, as it turns out, there is more to that story.

This morning, we were looking at the picture book again and he starts pointing at different pictures.

Me: Where's the baby ? Can you find the baby ?

Swe-cha: [points to the butterfly]

Me: That's not a baby, go on, look for the baby. Where's the baby ?

Swe-cha: [taps the picture of the butterfly a few more times]

Me: Where's the baby ? Sige na, look for the baby.

Swe-cha: [still tapping the butterfly, he looks at me]

Me: you silly boy! That's not a baby, that's a beautiful butterfly ( "beautiful butterfly" is the last line in "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", one of his favorite books).

Swe-cha: Esssss.

and then, he walked away.

Romper

A-I, why did you get me a dress ?

Aaah, it's a romper. Thank you! I love it! I know it's baduy but Mommy made me wear the shirt under the romper, she was worried I might get cold in the car.

Wearing the Kahuna outfit made me want to surf but Mommy wouldn't let me have a surfboard... so I improvised and used my small wagon from Tita R as a skateboard.

Gassy

Swe-cha has been gassy again during night time these past few days. He has not been eating anything new, nor have I, so we have not really determined what has been causing his gas early in the morning.

Anyway, so on Sunday morning, Swe-cha wakes up at 3a, starts tossing, turning and crying. We gave him Mylicon and kept applying Aceite de Manzanilla on his tummy and lower back and neither gave him any relief. Eventually, I told hubby to just get him to wake up because usually, when he's awake, he is usually able to pass gas easily. Hubby gets him up and true enough, he gives a long hard fart (heehee) within 5 minutes of getting up.

Unfortunately, while he is pain-free now, he is also awake. Hubby stays up w/him while I try to catch a few winks so I can take over his care in the morning.

Hubby tries to get him to sleep an hour later, at 5am, but even though he was showing signs of being sleepy, he refuses to sleep. He doesn't get back to sleep until 8am - at which time hubby was already feeding him breakfast and he fell asleep in his highchair while in the middle of chewing.

He wakes up at 11a and I take care of him, we don't wake Daddy up till 2p and when we went to Daddy, Swe-cha cradles Daddy's face and kisses him - drool and all. Daddy was startled because this was the first time that Swe-cha had ever kissed him and also because of Swe-cha's drool.

That night, Swe-cha would kiss him again while they're in the play yard.

That's twice in 1 day. I'm jealous. I kept asking Swe-cha to kiss Mommy but he ignores my request - he does want to be with me & play with me though, just no kissing.

Daddy says the kisses are to make up for the lack of sleep the night before, naglalambing raw so Daddy won't get irate :-)

Picture book

This morning, Swe-cha brings out his picture book and opens it to the first page. Seeing that, I asked him to "show Mommy the car".

Swe-cha: [points to the yellow duckling]

Mommy: "Show mommy the car, honey. Where's the car ?"

Swe-cha: [keeps pointing to the duckling] "Aaaaah! Aaah!"

then, he looks at me while still pointing to the duck.

Mommy: "That's a duck."

Swe-cha: "Essss"

and then he walked away.

Ha ? What just happened there ? :)

Soba, Egg

We had lunch at Mitsuwa's food court today and I'm happy to note that Swe-cha loved the soba and the egg from my katsudon.

He'd already finished his baon when our order arrived but he seemed interested in the food so I let him try.

First, I took a piece of tamago sushi and gave it to him to try, he spit it out.

Then, I scraped a piece of egg from my katsudon and he liked it. I gave him all the egg I could scrape off of the katsudon. When 1 grain of rice went with the egg, he spit the rice.

When I ran out of eggs, I gave him a sip of the soba broth, he liked it too. I was going to give him the soup to drink when I realized that he seemed interested in my chopsticks. I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to give him some soba, he loved this!

Looks like we're going to have to schedule more trips to Mitsuwa. It's such a pity that it's so hard to park and even doubly hard to get a table at the food court.
