Problem Solver

Dear Swe-cha,

You are a very funny baby. You started walking last week and every now and then, you make Daddy and me laugh when you walk past something that catches your attention and your head turns to look at it but your feet continue walking forward so you lose your balance and you fall.

This afternoon, I was sitting just outside your play yard typing up emails. You were in the playpen watching your baby einstein videos on the laptop w/c is just outside the yard fencing. I got worried for a while because I suddenly heard your video stopping and starting every now and then, I made a mental note to ask your Dad to check the laptop out to see if the disk needs replacing. It wasn't until later that I realized what was causing the problem w/ the video.

You had stuck your finger out and reached over to the laptop and every time you click on the button, you were pausing and starting the video. You had so much fun with that.

Later, you also succeeded in changing the laptop's screen resolution somehow, I still have not figured out how you accomplished that with what that finger can reach. Btw, don't be worried about the dust-looking particles on the laptop in the picture, it's actually crumbs from the Baby MumMum that you just threw out - it hit the laptop.

Then this evening, I had a very wonderful time watching you play and trying to guess what you were up to. You were trying to carry your crawling ball but it was too heavy for you to carry and walk at the same time. I watched you picking it up, throwing it forward, walking to where it is and picking it up again and throw it forward again. You repeated those steps until the ball has been moved to one corner of your room. You then walked over to where the bottle of lotion is, got the bottle, threw it forward, walked to the bottle, picked it up and threw it forward - that was when I got it, you were moving your heavier toys and items around :) Your Ninang A once told me that you are a problem solver, seems like you're living up to that description.

I really should carry our video camera around my neck whenever I'm with you so I can record these moments but I didn't want to go & get it and miss watching you play so I just did the next best thing and called Daddy. I described what you were doing while he listened to you babble.

Love,
Mommy

Spoiled

Dear Swe-Cha,

You seem to have gotten used to our walks as you do not nap in the afternoons anymore unless we are outside. You are getting spoiled *smile* and naughty, as you make Mommy walk and push your stroller every day. It's okay though, Mommy needs the exercise.

Miss Vanessa, our neighbor's caretaker, says you've grown so much and look bigger every day. Mommy is so proud of you and I'm happy that you smile every time you see her - you look so adorable!

Love,
Mommy

Walks

Dear Swe-Cha,

It was such a nice day today and you were fussing so Mommy took you out for a walk. You liked it so much that you fell asleep immediately, almost as soon as we stepped out of our building.

Seeing that you were sleeping, I decided to go back inside. The moment we stepped into the lobby, you woke up again so we went back outside. When we got outside, you fell asleep again.

So mommy gets the pattern and decides to go for a longer walk. We get a rare treat (for mommy) at dunkin donuts - a decaf iced coffee - then we dropped by the local grocery store and bought meat and veggies for dinner. When we got home, you still had not gotten enough of the "outside" - probably tired of being cooped up in the house all winter long - so Mommy sits you outside on the balcony in your stroller.

You enjoyed yourself and laughed out loud whenever a breeze blew so we called up Daddy so that he could hear you laughing. He wished that he was home with us so he could watch and have fun with you.

love,
Mommy

Loving you at 2.5 months

Dear Swe-cha,

Your daddy and I have been staring at you every now and then these past few days and we couldn't help but be amazed at how much you've grown.

You were less than 6 lbs when we brought you home and now, after 2.5 months, you've more than doubled your birth weight and have gone from wearing diapers from sizes N - 1 - 1 to 2 - and now, 2. We opened your first box of size 2 diapers earlier this week. We don't have to go back to your pedia till your 4th month but I estimate you to be at the 14 lb mark by now.

In 2.5 months, you've also increased your milk intake from 2 oz to a whopping 6 oz! You still have a tendency to snack and to take your milk in installments though, but that is okay, mommy is around and ready with your milk anytime.

You've also made Mommy and Daddy happy by behaving very well whenever we take you out. March was full of outings for you - you attended your first mass at St Andrew the Apostle Church, joined your first children's party (Ate Steph's 3rd bday), you attended a baby shower for Tita Millet and another for Tita Aris, watched Manny Pacquiao's boxing match against Clottey at Tito Marlon and Tita Riza's.

Aside from visiting your tito and titas, you also went to McDonald's and TGIF's.

Oh, and you made sure to mark your territory each time we visit a place. You pooped, peed and fed at Tita Millet's, Tita Gerly's, Tita Riza's, Babies R US, McDonald's in CT and at TGIF. As weird as it sounds, you make me a very proud momma whenever we conquer a new place :)

And we're not the only ones who find you adorable, we were stopped several times at church and at TGIFs by total strangers who find you very cute. I never tire of hearing "your baby is so cute!".

We love you so much, babe. We thank God for the gift of you every day.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
