Hubby then tells me about what Swe-cha did and I told hubby, "yes, he's a smart kid, he only scribbles on paper." No matter where he picks up a crayon or any writing implement, he would always run off to the master's bedroom which is where we keep the paper. "Other kids write all over their walls and themselves with permanent marker but our son does not do that, he's a good boy," I continued.
As it turns out, I only get to be smug for a couple of months because yesterday, Swe-cha discovered the joy of scribbling on all sorts of surfaces! To date, I've found crayon markings on his clothes, our bedsheets, a bedrail, and our carpet protector (that thick plastic sheet that you lay on top of carpet to protect it from an office chair). He loves his crayons so much and would always be seen running around with one clutched in his hand. Last night, I changed his diaper in the middle of the night and was not really surprised when a crayon fell out of his clothes.
Guess who's not getting markers (even washable ones) in his Christmas stocking this year ?
I'm sure glad we stopped repainting the house (and our home improvement plans) when we found out we were expecting.
