Swe cha has been coming home from daycare with half-eaten jars of food again. Sometimes, I feel like he just cooperated with us (we have to be thankful for that) and ate hard just to gain enough weight to impress the doctor at the special 17th month weigh-in.
In any case, I'm trying to get creative with his food preparation now. Since he still rejects regular table food & finger foods, we don't really have a lot of choices. We buy different brands of baby food - Earth's Best, Beech Nut and Gerber - but there are only so many choices of veggies, fruits and meat combinations that he will take.
Recently, I thought that he was ready for stage 3 products, but it turns out that he is only ready for some (Sweet corn & rice, squash & zucchini) but not others (broccoli, cheese & pasta, macaroni & beef).
Anyway, this afternoon, he came home with a half-eaten container of banana & plum. He didn't like it anymore but I didn't want to waste it, if possible, and I really wanted Swe-cha to eat more. It was then that it hit me!
He usually has yogurt for a snack when we get home from daycare and I bought some plain vanilla yogurt last time, hoping I could sneak some fruits in such as strawberries, peaches, etc. Since we have the leftover banana plum today, I mixed that in with the yogurt - ubos! :D
I'm a happy mommy.
