He was sleeping when we went out and slept all the way to the doctor's office. When we got in, he started to wake up but I kept him in his infant carrier / car seat and rocked it back and forth on the floor. That soothed him and made him go back to sleep. Thankfully, this doctor keeps his patient bookings very efficient - I never had to wait more than 5 minutes each time I see him - which is why I was confident about bringing the baby with me.
He woke up hungry while the doctor was wrapping up with me, I brought him back to the car as soon as I can and fed him there. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be as he is not used to being in the car seat, I was pleasantly surprised that he had no complaints at all.
He fed and before long, we were on our way home. I was even able to drive by McDonalds and get myself a breakfast sandwich. I can definitely see ourselves going out with Swe-cha more often and on longer trips if such trips were as uneventful and smooth *knock on wood* as this one.
As for my doctor's appointment, it went extremely well. I officially do not have diabetes. Again, I do not have diabetes. Yay! Hubby and I have been praying for good results and were quite nervous about this because I took the 2 hr Glucose Tolerance Test at 4 weeks after giving birth instead of the 12 weeks that I was told to do*. It wasn't until after I had already set the appointments for the test and the doctor that I thought about researching the ideal time frame for getting tested again after a pregnancy with gestational diabetes.
Searches on the web told me that one's hormones does not stabilize until around 6 weeks after giving birth. I started worrying after reading that because that meant that it was very likely that I would get unfavorable results because I was tested too early. Anyway, things went well. I just have to exercise and keep my weight down to remain healthy - weight loss has not been a problem lately anyway as I have been steadily losing weight since giving birth.
Happy.

* I had to take the test and the doctor's appointment earlier due to health insurance issues.
