Breastfeeding Class

We attended breastfeeding class for two hours last night, the speaker wasn't as entertaining as the one we had in Childbirth / Lamaze class so the two hours felt more like four. Hubby was yawning all the time and I had to keep poking him to make sure that he wasn't napping.

All in all, I wouldn't say that the class was completely useless but I don't remember hearing anything that I haven't heard or read about before.

Some useful information:
- La Leche League - breastfeeding advocate & support
- Infant will lose weight the first few days
- Hospital (where I am supposed to give birth) has lactation consultants available and they do give away free manual Medela breast pumps. Ask for it if you aren't given one.
- If in doubt, ask.
- To see how your baby is doing with regards to feeding, check his pee / poop.
- Do not use or share breast pumps, only hospital-grade breastpumps can be shared among different people

All in all, it wasn't a bad class - just probably not worth the $50 we paid for.
